INTRODUCTION TO RAUNJIBA DESIGN CENTER FOUNDER
Scott Benjamin Tucker, artist, designer, fabricator and builder. The Brooklyn born entrepreneur began his creative education at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) for interior design before receiving his BFA from LIU (Long Island University). Following his internship as a draftsman for Sage Group Construction, he completed a study abroad program in design at the Winchester School of Art in the UK and acquired specialized skills in welding & stone work at the Corcoran school of art in Washington DC. In 2004 Tucker launched his design & construction business in Brooklyn NY, specializing in renovation, restoration, custom build-out and furniture design. His client list includes Fortune 500 companies such as NIKE, Evian France, LVMH and Hampton Resorts. The furniture and interiors in his portfolio display Tucker’s dedication to delivering exceptional design with structural integrity and attention to every detail. In 2018 Tucker relocated to Baltimore as the senior project manager overseeing restoration of the Cameroonian Embassy in Washington DC. RAUNJIBA Design & Construction LLC currently manages commercial, residential construction & community development projects. Tucker’s passion for woodworking fuels a beautiful and dynamic line of custom furnishings for luxury residential, commercial and hospitality projects. From 2008 through 2013 he opened a series of successful pop-up RAUNJIBA showrooms in Brooklyn, Southampton NY and Los Angeles. His work caught the attention Black Enterprise nominating Tucker for Entrepreneur of the year and Lincoln Motor Corp, making him the focus of ad campaign featuring minority designers.
In 2019 Tucker moved to Baltimore, MD and purchased a home in historic Reservoir Hill, with new wife Melani. Recognizing the opportunities available and the benefits of relocating his business to Baltimore is the driving force behind the RAUNJIBA Design Center concept.
